Our artist, Ngaio Stead, has presented this scene looking across the Tauranga Harbour entrance to Mount Maunganui. A fairly symetrical peak rising some 232 metres. Mount Maunganui, literally "Big Hill" was a fortified Pa impregnable for over a hundred years.
