GOLDING HANDCRAFTS HAS BEEN SOLD

After forty three years of providing a unique service to the Wellington retail public, Dianne & Les are retiring.

We're delighted to be able to say that the shop in Marion St has been sold and will be opening under new owners and with a new name - Made on Marion.

Maryanne and David Cathro have lots of ideas and plans so we trust that you'll support them into the future.

PLEASE NOTE: - the shop will be closing on March 26 for stocktaking and will reopen under Maryanne and David's ownership.

The Golding's name will, however, be continuing with the mailorder and delivery service continuing from Porirua, as normal.

Dianne and Les, again, thank you for your support over the past 43 years and I'm sure you'll join me in wishing them a long and happy retirement.

Hello Crafters!

On 10 April, we will be opening the doors of Made on Marion, a new era for Wellington craft.

We are honoured and privileged to be taking over from Les and Dianne, who have served the Wellington crafting community for over four decades. It is important to us that we have their blessing for the changes to come, and we hope that you will like them too.

We re-open on 10 April, however in the week before Easter we will keep the door open as we set up, so please feel free to come in, say hi and stock up.

So, what’s changing at 17 Marion St, besides the name?

Open 7 days Mon to Fri 10-6, Sat and Sun 10-5. Late nights when classes are on – if the lights are on, feel free to come in.

Customer card: For every $15 you spend, we stamp your card. The tenth stamp is a $15 discount.

Classes: An exciting and ever growing range of reasonably priced classes. Look out for beginner sewing, cupcake decorating, tea cosies, aprons, kids’ classes – and many more. To find out more, please either ask for a brochure (available from late March) or email classes@mademarioncraft.co.nz.

Studio: The new, open studio will have couches, chairs, tables and equipment for customers to use. Sessions for mums and bubs, specialist and general crafting gettogethers, sewing for a cause etc. We are open to ideas for sessions! Some will be free, some may have a small materials charge. Plus, you are welcome to come in and work on a project any time there is room to do so. If you are in a group of crafters with nowhere to meet, let us know and we’ll see if we can help. For more information, email info@mademarioncraft.co.nz

Drop off/pick up for services

To the existing picture framing service we are adding sewing machine repairs through Absolute Sewing Services, and long-arm quilting through SueB’s Quilting Service.

Website: We’ll be doing our best to have this up and running by or shortly after 10 April. Class and studio schedules, samples, tutor profiles, news and online sales.

What’s not changing?

· The phone number – still 801 5850.

· A comprehensive range of quality products, good service, and commitment to source what we don’t stock.

· Caring about Wellington’s artists, crafters, students and sewists, and making sure they can get what they need.

That’s a fine tradition to carry on.

We hope to see you soon!

Maryanne & David Cathro
